We are getting back into the swing of things after me being in the U.S. and Becca’s mom being here. We have had a good weekend. The church that we are working at had a ladies conference on Friday afternoon. Becca attended and enjoyed the fellowship with about 50 other ladies. The meeting didn’t start on time and ended much later than anticipated but that’s par for the course down here.
On Saturday we held an open air meeting in a part of Cusco called Altivas Canas. It’s a part of the city that I had never been to, a “pueblo joven”. (The church might start a cell group there). We showed the movie “Facing the Giants” and an evangelist from the U.S. name Randy Chovan preached through a translator. There were about 25 that actually sat and watched the movie and listened to the message. Many others watched bits and pieces of it. We also passed out tracks inviting people to the movie and gave John and Romans to most of those who came. This morning the same evangelist Randy Chovan preached in the Sunday school hour and for the worship service out of Acts 8. He preached two great messages and the Holy Spirit really moved in the services. Tonight I was given the opportunity to preach. I was a little nervous since I hadn’t preached in Spanish for almost 1 month. I was rusty but praise the Lord for His help!
This coming week we hope to have our kids club up and running again and we have some contacts we are trying to get in touch with for discipleship. It’s great to be busy again in the Lord’s work!
