This week we had to travel to Lima to do some paperwork for our resident visas. We lost our residents status being in the U.S. for over 6 months and we are in the process of regaining it. We had to go to Interpol and get fingerprinted, as well as fill out some other paperwork. They will send our fingerprints to the F.B.I. in the U.S. and then once the background check is back we can get our resident cards. This normally takes 20 to 30 days. While in Lima we took advantage of the opportunity to eat at the American restaurants there (Chili’s, Friday’s, Pizza Hut). We also were able to do some other activities as a family that we are not able to do in Cusco. The Marks family – Todd, Rosalinda, and baby Amadea happened to be in Lima at the same time doing some paperwork so we got to spend some time with them also. We worked with them for almost 2 years in Arequipa. It was good to see them after nearly 3 years.
