Neomi´s Surgery

For those of you who might not know our daughter Neomi is going to need corrective surgery for her scoliosis.  We found out a couple of weeks ago that she was going to need this surgery after seeing a nuerosurgeon here in Cusco.  (She had a growth spurt and the growth has caused her scoliosis to become very severe.) He recommended surgery as soon as possible since Neomi´s spine has a curve of about 50 degrees.  The surgery cannot be done in Cusco and looked to be very costly in Lima so we decided to have things done in the U.S.  For now it looks like she will be having the surgery at Shriner´s in Lexington, KY.  They specialize in orthopedics and the surgeon is said to be excellent.  We ask for your prayers for Neomi and our family.  The operation is very involved and can take 8-10 hours.  Rebecca will be traveling home with the girls on Feb. 2nd. and on Feb. 6th she has an appointment with the surgeon.  We do not have a date for the surgery but when we do I will be traveling back to the U.S. for it.  Thank you in advance for your prayers!
