1Ki 20:28 “And there came a man of God, and spake unto the king of Israel, and said, Thus saith the LORD, Because the Syrians have said, The LORD is God of the hills, but he is not God of the valleys, therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thine hand, and ye shall know that I am the LORD.”
The Lord really made this verse jump out at me when I was reading it (I bolded the part in the middle for emphasis). When I read this verse I think of all the times that I have thought the same thing. I have been in the valley and discouraged and I’ve said, “God, where are you? Why aren’t you with me? Why is this happening?” There’ve been times when I’ve thought, “He’s not God of the valleys. He doesn’t care what’s going on.” (All along knowing that He was there and is God). So today if you’ve been going through a valley, please know that God is God of the hills and the valleys. He will be with you on the mountain tops and in the lowest valleys. He will never leave you or forsake you. He is: “God of the valleys”.
