Dayton, Ohio

After returning to the United States we knew the Lord would have us continue working with Spanish-speakers, not only in Peru but wherever He would open doors.  The U.S. has now become the second largest Spanish-speaking country in the world behind Mexico.  The state of Ohio’s Hispanic population has grown to nearly 1 million.

We investigated many different areas in Ohio including Cleveland-Columbus-Cincinnati.  All have significant Hispanic populations, but in our research we came upon the city of Dayton, Ohio.  Dayton has a great need for a gospel-centered Hispanic church.  The Greater Dayton area is home to over 20,000 Spanish-speakers from at least 10 different countries.  Instead of reaching only Peruvians, we have the opportunity to reach Hispanics from all over North, South, and Central America.  Dayton is strategic for the Hispanic population because of its cheaper housing and its accessibility to work sites in other major cities around Ohio.  For this period of our lives, this is where we believe God has called us to plant a Spanish-speaking church.
