Trip to Huanúco

This past week we took a quick trip to Huanuco to see Nene and Papaw Stanton. The Stanton’s have been missionaries in Peru for almost 30 years and had the girls in their custody before us.  We had a great time being with them and visiting in Huanúco.  Here are some pictures:

Christmas services

Today we held our Christmas services.  We had a great time celebrating the birth of our Savior (we know He was not born on Dec. 25th).  We read through the Christmas story of Luke 2:1-14 and sang Christmas carols in between the Bible verses.  We then had the message.  Afterwards we celebrated with snacks and hot chocolate along with some games that involved gifts!  It was a wonderful day filled with the blessings of the Lord.

Christmas Chocolatada

This morning we had our annual Christmas party for our kids club.  It was a crazy but exciting morning! In Peru almost every school or organization has a chocolatada. A chocolatada is where you serve hot chocolate and a bread kind of like fruit cake called panetón (we serve cupcakes instead of panetón).  Also, small gifts are given to the kids.  This is one of the most exciting Saturday’s of the year!  Just seeing the kid’s faces light up opening their gifts is a gift for us.  You all have a part in this and we thank you so much!  The Lord blessed us with 35 kids and a couple of parents with their small children this morning!  Here are some pictures:
