Tis the Season

Our family has been looking forward to this time of the year since we got back to the United States in August. While there is no snow, (our girl’s really want to see snow) it does feel very much like Christmas. It is very different this year being around family for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. We are definitely not lonely this Christmas! In Peru it is business as usual throughout this time of year until the 24th and 25th of December. The 24th is when many people decorate there. This year we are enjoying being home and doing some Christmas traditions, one of which is building/making gingerbread houses. Here are some pictures.

November Update

We hope you all had a very Happy Thanksgiving! We were blessed to be able to spend Thanksgiving with family for the first time since 2011. What a great time we had. It was so surreal to be with family and friends who we had not seen for several years; we just wanted to stop time.

It has been a busy month for us. It’s hard to believe that only 30 days have passed since the last update. We are so grateful to the Lord for keeping us safe in all our travels this month. We traveled over 4,000 miles this month and had 13 meetings. Thank you to all the churches who had us in this month. Since we started traveling in September, each church we have been in has been so gracious to us. Thank you! We praise the Lord that through the love offerings our churches have been giving we were able to pay off our plane tickets! This is an incredible blessing since our round trip tickets cost almost $5,000.

Our time in the U.S. is quickly passing. We are already starting to get things together for our return in January. We are excited to return but at the same time cherishing each moment we have here. Please continue to pray for the work in Cusco. Pastor Daniel reports that things are going good. The morning and evening Sunday services are going good. Although many look at having two services as two different shifts. Instead of coming to both, which many are able to do, they choose to come to one or the other believing that one service a week is sufficient (not too different from America). Pray for revival meetings that the church will be having in December. Bro. Rodney Spears, former missionary in Peru, will be preaching the revival. This will be the first meeting of its kind that we have had. Also, pray for the re-start of Kid’s Club. The school year should finish up the first week of December and they will be starting the children’s ministry again. Thank you all so much for your faithfulness to pray for us and financially support the ministry!
