Home Sweet Home

We are back in Hamilton, Ohio!  We just got back from almost 1,400 miles of traveling in North Carolina and Tennessee.  It truly was a beautiful drive through the mountains, especially with all the fall foliage.  We had a great trip over to North Carolina to visit a couple of churches.  We were with the Berea Baptist Church and the New Hope Baptist Church.  We met the Berea Baptist Church when they came to Cusco with missionary Sheridan Stanton.  He brought them to help us paint the inside of our building.  It was great to see the group again and to finally meet Pastor Cook and the whole church.  What a blessing they were to us housing us and feeding us!  We had a great time.  We also were with the New Hope Baptist Church where Bro. Randy Hobbs is pastor in Burlington, N.C.  We had a wonderful evening with them and the church voted to start supporting us on a monthly basis.  We praise the Lord for this wonderful blessing to have another church partner with us in reaching the people of Peru with the Gospel message.

Mission Conference

We are on our way back to the Cincinnati area for a day and a half before heading to North Carolina for a couple of meetings. We just got through with a great mission conference at one of our supporters: Ambassador Baptist Church. What a great group of people led by Pastor Mike Decker! As we say in southern Ohio they “flat out” spoiled our family. We were floored by their generosity towards us and the way they took care of all of the missionary families there. We had such an enjoyable time with the different groups each night and updating everyone on the work in Peru! We also enjoyed spending time with the other missionaries in the conference. Words really can’t express how grateful we are and what a blessing it was to be at this conference! Thank you Ambassador Baptist Church!

Winton Place Baptist Church

If you haven’t seen our latest update you might want to read it or sign up to get it!  On Sunday Rebecca and I joined the Winton Place Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Our Pastor is Joe Head.  He has been at Winton Place for 26 years.  He was one of my professors in Bible Institute classes as well.  Winton Place has been supporting us from the very start of our ministry as have many other of our supporting churches.  We have a good relationship with this church and with Pastor Head, and we are excited to see how God will use us through the Winton Place Baptist Church.  The church is actively ministering to all age groups and is already sponsoring 3 other missionary families sent out from their congregation.  Thank you all who have been praying for us!  It was a decision we prayed almost constantly about and at times seemed we would never be able to make.  Pastor Head has already been talking with me and giving me some council and guidance for our next term in Peru.

Traveling

Our travels took us to Pennsylvania this past weekend.  It was a quick trip (688 miles round trip) over to Gibbon Glade, Pa. to visit one of our supporting churches: Laurel Mountain Baptist Church.  If you have never been to Gibbon Glade it is in the Laurel mountains near the border of Pennsylvania and West Virginia.  It is a beautiful spot but it was raining the entire time we were there.  We praise the Lord for keeping us safe over the many miles and giving us a good meeting.  Our next stop is at the Awana’s program at Friendship Baptist Church and then up to northern Ohio for a mission conference.
