Missionary Goal

This quote is by Oswald Chambers: “The aim of the missionary is to do God’s will, not to be useful, not to win the heathen; he is useful and he does win the heathen, but that is not his aim. His aim is to do the will of his Lords.”

So often as a missionary it’s easier to lose our focus and to get our eyes on other things. Low attendance or no attendance, slow growth in the work, tight budgets, cultural differences, and a myriad of other things take our focus off of what our main goal is: to honor and glorify God by doing His will and not our own.

It’s been a pretty busy week for the Reinhardt family.   A week ago Thursday, my brother and his family arrived from Turkey.  It was a long, arduous trip for them that involved missing their connecting flight because of Homeland Security questioning.  They made it in at 9 p.m. or 6 a.m. Turkish time.

Last Friday we began a short trip that took us 1,359 miles.  We visited 2 of our supporting churches and spent time with another one of our supporters.  We had a great time with Elliot B.C. in Elliot, Ms.  On Saturday they had a shrimp boil which was very tasty.  We were not used to having to pinch off their heads and legs and take the shell off.  It was a great experience though and there was a lot of shrimp.  We also had a great time at Grace Memorial B.C. in Bartlett, Tn. (near Memphis).  They have a wonderful church and we enjoyed the fellowship with Pastor Meadows and his family!  Here are some pictures of our week.

On the road

Well we are on the road – on our way to Mississippi for a meeting. We drove almost half way last night. We still have about 215 miles left.
On Thursday my brother and his wife arrived from Turkey! It had been over 1 year since I had seen him and over 5 years since Rebecca had seen them. The whole family is in and we got to see Abigail for the first time – she’s 7 months! We are looking forward to spending some time with them! Thank you all for your prayers for our trip. We only gave about 2 1/2 hours left!
