High day

The Lord blessed us with a great kids club yesterday!  We had 27 come!  We were encouraged by kids club and right after it, a little discouraged by youth group, and then a little more discouraged with Sunday morning services.  God is good though and we are privileged to serve Him here in Cusco.  Here are some pictures of Kids Club.

Congratulations!

I want to say congratulations to my cousin Lyndsay who just had a baby – Jordyn Faith Jackson!  I don’t have any pictures, but she weighed 7.9 lbs and was 20 inches long!  Lyndsays husband Mark Jackson is pastor of Grace Baptist Tabernacle in Louisville, Kentucky.

Back in action

Yesterday we got back to kids club and youth group after a week off.  The Lord blessed us with 20 (1 of whom was a visitor) in Berea Club!  The kids earn points every week for saying their memory verse, bringing visitors, bringing their Bible, and many other things.  They use their points to buy things at our “tiendita”.  We have little shop that they can buy things from with their points every week.  All the kids were happy that we had everything on sale, “de oferta”, so they could buy something extra special.  We also learned about Samson yesterday.

We were also blessed with 4 at out youth group.  We had a good time playing games with them and looking at some of the questions they had about Biblical things.

This morning we had 1 visitor and a total of 8 souls!  We studied “Does the Lord’s Day exist?”  It is interesting to note that the only reason we have weeks is because the Lord God chose to rest.  Days, months, and years all correspond to the nature that God created but the week is a phenomon.

Goodbye

Yesterday we said our goodbyes to Grandma/mom/Phyllis.  She was with us for just under a month and we had a great time with her here.  She was a great help with the girls and she played the keyboard for our church services.  We did a lot while she was here with us.  Goodbyes are almost always sad, especially when your saying bye to your family who live so far away from you.  Well, Natali and Neomi don’t quite understand about saying goodbye (when we’re at the airport).  When we are at home they just say “bye!” but when we are at the airport they know that that is where the sad goodbyes are.  Needless to say their big tears were flowing as we said goodbye to Grandma yesterday.

Just to let you all know Grandma made it home safely!

Missionary funding down

I got this off a post by Pastor Austin Gardner.  I was shocked to read just how short the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering was.  I think you’ll find this article very interesting.  It shows just how much we need to pray for missionaries around the world.  When the economy is bad often the first thing to get cut are the missionary offerings, but God is always faithful to provide!
